Barbara Hillis McWhorter

Barbara Hillis McWhorter, died Friday, April 20, 2012 at The Place in Pooler under the care of Odyssey Hospice. She was the youngest daughter of the late John Douglas and Neita Lee Hillis.

She was a member of the Wilmington Island United Methodist Church and a former member of the Professional Women's Club. She retired after twenty years as Manager of the Savannah Federal Credit Union at the Army Corps of Engineers.

She was preceded in death by her only son, Charles Edward McWhorter, Jr. She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Jane and Darrell Loper of Savannah, Joyce and Bill Griffin of Pembroke, Cathy and Tom Moore of Griffin, GA, Tommy and Francis Clark of Savannah, George and Becky Clark of Chattanooga, TN, Barbara and Scott Scobey of Savannah and Johnny and Beverly Wells of Atlanta. She is also survived by ten great nieces and nephews.

A graveside funeral service will be held Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Bonaventure Cemetery.
